very nice tutorial. With these new features of Affinity Photo it becomes easy to develop your astrophotos as a beginner.

Great tutorial, it gave me a lot of information on how to process the data, especially useful were the macros, a great resource and makes the process so much simpler - I wasn't aware of these and am fairly new to Affinity but it seems to be very feature rich now for astrophotography. Thankyou for imparting your wisdom and experience, it is very much appreciated.

Thanks very much Neil. Really glad it was of use. The macros have transformed the ease of creating RGB and SHO images. It's great that a mainstream package like Affinity recognises FITS files. I suspect that most of the credit for this must go to James Ritson who is an Affinity employee and keen astrophotographer. I'm hoping that we'll see more astronomy-related tools included in future releases.

Hi Neil.
There are multiple macros available in the set, including RGB, SHO, LRGB, HOO, HSO. OSH and bi-colour combinations. The most useful macros will be the first three and they're pretty similar to use. James Ritson has written a PDF guide for each of the macros and this is downloaded with the macro set.
