Today we are announcing the new contests for December 2022!

Here below you can find the definitions of the two contests. Remember to check the rules before taking part in these contests!

The One-Click Contest

The One-Click Observation for the December 2022 Contest is the Region Around Wray 17-96 obtained with CHI-5 in the HSO filter set.

Wray 17-96 is a luminous star in the Scorpius constellation, about 15,000 light-years (4.6 kpc) away. It is a suspected luminous blue variable (LBV), although it has not shown the characteristic spectral variations.

To qualify for the contest, remember to tag the picture you upload with #OneClickContestDec22 and either #Expert or #Beginner (check this page to find out your skill level).

The winners of the best picture in the One-Click Contest will receive:

The Bundle Contest

The Observation Bundle for the December 2022 Contest is the IC 4628 obtained with AUS-2 in the HSO filter set. It contains 16 One-Click Observations corresponding to 15 hours of total exposure time.

IC 4628 (also known as the Prawn Nebula or RCW 116) is a large emission nebula visible in Scorpio's constellation. It is observed in the southern part of the constellation, just north of the bright open cluster NGC 6231.

The winners of the best picture in the Bundle Contest will receive:
