Comment from the judges: Our one-click beginner contest was closely fought with Laszlo Monich winning with great colour work. This image had better control over the central star, the star colours in this image could do with correction as well as deconvolution to improve the star shapes.
Expert Tier
Comment from the judges: Stephan Küppers processed the southern ring nebula very well with an appropriate crop into the details with great colour work and detail sharpening. As a tiny planetary nebula it can be beneficial to crop into the image to better showcase the target.
🏆 Observation Bundle Contest Winners 🏆
The Observation Bundle for the December 2023 Contest was the RCW16 obtained with CHI-1-CMOS in the HSO filter set. It contains 12 One-Click Observations corresponding to more than 12 hours of total exposure time.
You can see and grab this Observation Bundle by clicking here.
Beginner Tier
Comment from the judges: Walter Borghini's image of RCW 16 was well processed, some improved colour work to reduce the yellow tone would improve this image.
Expert Tier
Comment from the judges:
Thomas Peter created our winning bundle expert with great colour pallete selection and detail control. For RCW 16 the judges noted that dust lanes attenuate light and are not generally opaque which Thomas has demonstrated well.
