Today we are announcing the new contests for October 2022!

Here below you can find the definitions of the two contests. Remember to check the rules before taking part in these contests!

The One-Click Contest

The One-Click Observation for the October 2022 Contest is a two-panel mosaic of IC 4592 obtained with CHI-5 in the LRGB filter set.

IC 4592, also known as the Blue Horsehead Nebula, is a faint reflection nebula in the constellation Scorpius. The nebula is lit by the multiple Star System Nu Scorpii.

To qualify for the contest, remember to tag the picture you upload with #OneClickContestOct22 and either #Expert or #Beginner (check this page to find out your skill level).

The winners of the best picture in the One-Click Contest will receive:

  • 25 credits prize (value $38) in the Beginner tier
  • 50 credits prize (value $76) in the Expert tier

The Bundle Contest

The Observation Bundle for the October 2022 Contest is the Cat's Eye Nebula, obtained with SPA-2 in the HSO filter set. It contains 14 One-Click Observations corresponding to more than 13 hours of total exposure time.

The Cat’s Eye Nebula, or NGC 6543, is a planetary nebula in the constellation of Draco at magnitude 8.1 with high surface brightness, discovered by William Herschel in 1786.

The winners of the best picture in the Bundle Contest will receive:

  • 75 credits prize (value $113) in the Beginner tier
