The newly improved Advanced Requests: Faster and Cheaper!
If you have read my previous posts, you should know by now that once Tlescope Live 3.0 is launched, every observation modality available in our platform will work with credits, this includes One-Click Observations and Advanced Requests.
Today I’m here with a special offer for you and some important updates about the Advanced Requests.
In the presentation of Telescope Live 3.0, I discussed at length how we are improving the One-Click Observations experience, by opening our huge database of observations to everybody for immediate download.
However, we couldn’t forget about you and all the other “veterans” able to exploit Remote Imaging at its full potential!
In fact, we have also made some quite good developments on our most sophisticated observation modality: the Advanced Requests!
In just a few days, you will enjoy the following improvements.
The newly improved Advanced Requests: Faster and Cheaper!
The first thing to know is that the Advanced Requests are now prioritized against any other observation.
When using automated scheduling, every Advanced Request submitted will have absolute priority.
We know that this has always been a major issue for many of you. Advanced Requests seem to take ages, and One-Click Observations always seem to push your Advanced Requests to the future.
But now, thanks to the changes we will shortly introduce, the entire network will be “relieved” since there won’t be the same need to immediately collect all the Pro Datasets and the One-Click Observations as in the past.
In fact, before, we were forced to balance the usage of our telescopes to make these data sets available to all those users that are not so much into picking a specific target and tweaking every aspect of the observation.
The good news then is that you will receive your images faster than ever before!
The second significant improvement is that Advanced Requests are now cheaper.
As you know, we charge for telescope utilization rather than for the actual exposure time.
This is the fairest way to charge for using our telescopes, as you pay for the time the telescope is actually used.
It means that you pay for the so-called overheads (for instance: the time taken to slew the telescope, to readout the images from the camera, dithering, focus and refocus, guide, etcetera…).
Thanks to our improved software, we have been able to reduce such overheads, so that the final prices of your observations will go down by a significant amount.
But that's not all!
To encourage the use of our coolest observing modality and allow more people to become true remote observers, we also decided to reduce the hourly prices for telescope utilization across all our telescopes with price reductions ranging from 10% to 30%!
So, these are the improvements that will be available from the launch of Telescope Live 3.0!
As you can see, we always try our best to improve our platform and the observation experience for all our users (being them expert astrophotographers or “newbies” that are just starting).
See you space cowboy…
