Telescope Live 3.0 Is Just Around The Corner
Today, I have a great announcement to make...
It almost seems a recurring scheme: every November we are changing our platform in order to make it easier for all the passionate astrophotographers (like yourself) to practice this great hobby.
In November 2019 we launched the first version of Telescope Live.
Then, a year later, we improved the platform with two new observation modalities (the One-Click Observations and the Pro Datasets), giving birth to Telescope Live 2.0.
Now, after another year, we are introducing new improvements and many updates to our platform, shaping in such a way what we will call Telescope Live 3.0.
But, before I tell you about these radical changes, allow me to tell you why we decided to change our platform with such improvements.
After two years of operations, we realized that we never clearly communicated our Mission and the core values that drive every decision we make.
So, we thought to take this chance to tell you what we are standing for.
With such insights, I believe that you will understand much better how we came up with the new improvements and the "reason why" we implemented them in such a way – so read this passage carefully.
Our Mission and Core Values
We believe that astrophotography should be more accessible to everyone and that all the wonders hidden in the night sky should be easier to observe.
For these reasons, we decided to break down the main barriers to astrophotography.
We cut the incredibly high costs that you have to bear to practice this passion.
We open the gates to an endless stream of observations and make them available to everyone.
We declare war on the steep learning curve that you have to go through when approaching this hobby.
We are doing so by giving astrophotographers the possibility of working with data taken from professional and top-notch quality telescopes located in both hemispheres and under the best night-skies.
We offer the most affordable way ever to access observations of every night-sky object continuously obtained with such telescopes.
We provide a tailored onboarding that makes it as easy as ever to start to practice astrophotography.
And we have taken the best instructors out there to teach you all the tricks and tips that will bring your knowledge and abilities to the next level.
This is our mission and value proposition, it is who we are and what we are standing for, what we want to pursue, and how we are trying to reach our objectives.
Clearly, we are still at the beginning of our adventure, and the road is still quite long, but we believe that we have made some quite good improvements since the launch of our platform in fall 2019.
But let’s go back for a second to the new changes that we are introducing.
As you might have understood from a couple of the passages above, there will soon be changes in “how” you obtain and pay for the data we make available to you.
Moreover, the second-last sentence talks about having opened the “world's biggest archive of astrophotography data”.
If you are wondering what is going to happen, you must wait a couple of days, when I will publish another post with all the details.
Up till then, See you space cowboy…
