Hi Nik, love the detail. Quick question, did you process the stars and background separately using the technique you have demonstrated that uses Star exterminator??

Yes, I always separate the stars from the background when processing. For the M16 shot I used StarNetv2 as it's slightly quicker and it creates a star layer, although StarXterminator does an equally good job. It's then a simple task to combine the two layers in Affinity or Photoshop. This method allows a huge amount of flexibility and produces much better results than working with a single image.
