M20 - The Trifid Nebula
This deep sky target is a wonderful mix of an open cluster, an emission nebula, a reflection nebula and a dark nebula. It lies in the constellation Sagittarius and was discovered by Charles Messier in 1974! It is relatively close to Earth compared with any other DSOs that I have captured lying 5,200 light years away.
