The Andromeda Galaxy - M31
The Andromeda Galaxy - M31
The Andromeda Galaxy (M31) is a barred spiral galaxy ~2.5 million light years from Earth, and is the closest major galaxy to our own Milky Way.
This is one of my favorite galaxies, but I am unable to image it from my location because it is very low in the north; however, I have seen it through binoculars. I was also able to see it with my naked eyes on one very cold night when I visited Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona.
As I am not able to image Andromeda from my location in Melbourne, Australia, So I used Telescope.live. The equipment used to collect the data for this image is something I could only dream of owning.
