47 Tucanae
47 Tucanae
I present my second Pixinsight processing effort.
47 Tucanae (NGC 104) is arguably the finest true globular cluster in the sky. At a visual magnitude of only 4.1, it is easily seen with the naked eye, nestled up against the SMC (Small Magellanic Cloud). I have personally visually observed this object from the OzSky Star Party near Coonabarabran, NSW, Australia using eyeballs, my Canon 15x45 IS Binoculars and an 18” and a 25” scope. It is truly glorious!!
For this image processing effort, I obtained a total of 84 calibrated FITS exposures from TelescopeLive.
My full-size 9351x6261 pixel final processed image is glorious with a small chunk of the SMC present and numerous other tiny and faint DSO's. This image included here is a cropped and rescaled version of that "master".
Takahashi FSQ-106ED Telescope located in Australia (AUS-2-CMOS)
QHY 600M Pro camera w/ Astrodon LRGB filters;
21-180s Luminance, 21-180s Red, 21-180s Green and 21-180s Blue; 1x1 binning; a bit more than 4 hrs total integration time;
PixInsight, GraXpert, BlurXterminator, NoiseXterminator
