Andromeda in L-HaRGB
Andromeda in L-HaRGB
This dataset was part of the TL4 beta test phase.
II used the RGB and Ha data to generate a HARGB using Pixelmath wit a ratio of 30% R and 70 % Ha for the R channel.
I then combined the three color channel to an RGB image, calibrated the color using SPCC and used this as color source for the luminance dataset after the stars were separated.
The luminance dataset (with removed stars) was tone mapped to enhance the spiral features of the Andromeda Galaxy M31.
Lastly, the stars were reintroduced.
I was surprised to see the features in the outer region of the galaxy. Maybe these are artifacts from the tone mapping process. What do you think?
