The Auriga Nebula
The Aurigae Nebula, IC 405, also known as the Flaming Star Nebula, SH- 2-229 or caldwell 31 is an emission and reflection approximately 1,500 light-years from the solar system. This image was captured using the SPA-1-CMOS Takahashi FSQ-106ED and is pushing the limits of this telescopes field of view, with quite noticable star distortion at the corners. I dod not crop the image to show all of the beautiful Ha nebulosity.
