This image shows various dark nebulae including Barnard 22 (below left) and Barnard 18 (middle right) in the constellation of Taurus, the Bull.
These absorption nebulae are part of the huge Taurus Molecular Cloud TMC-1).
Located about 450 light-years from us, this vast complex of interstellar clouds is where a myriad of stars are being born, and is the closest large region of star formation.
