Cat's Eye Nebula
Cat's eye nebula, a.k.a NGC 6543, and Cadwell 6. A planetary nebula in Draco ~ 3000 ly away with a magnitude of 8.1 and high surface brightness. It was the first planetary nebula whose spectrum demonstrated that planetary nebulae are gaseous in nature and not stellar. Structurally a very complex nebula, the mechanisms that have given rise to its morphology are not well understood yet.
HSO 13h 20m (24:28:28 x 600s) false-color image from SPA-2 an Officina Stellare 700 RC telescope, with FLI PL16803 camera and Astrodon LRGB 2GEN filters on an Officina Stellare equatorial fork mount with absolute encoders and direct drives. Situated in Oria, Spain. Part of telescope.live telescope network. Taken on multiple dates March 2021 - June 2022.
Processed in PixInsight. Color mapping was done using Alex Woronow's Narrowband Assistant script. Most of the bright core was unresolvable with 600s exposures; probably, short exposures would have helped.
