Cat's Paw Nebula
The cat's paw nebula, also known as ngc 6334, gum64, rcw127, or Sh2-8 is a large star-forming emission object region in the constellation scorpius. It is located about 5,500 light years away. Stars that form here are much more massive than the sun. The nebula shines brilliantly with ionized hydrogen, sulfur, and oxygen atoms from nearby stars. the sulfur-II and hydrogen-alpha signals are stronger than the oxygen-III signal.
