Clamshell, North America and Pelican Nebula, v2
Clamshell, North America and Pelican Nebula, v2
A new try on a two panel mosaic of Clamshell, North America and Pelican Nebula.
This is my first mosaic done in PixInsight. Previously I have used separately processed (almost) final images and created the mosaic in Photoshop or ICE. Usually it works pretty well but in this case panels looked too different. So I tried PixInsight where I created a separate mosaic for each HSO channel from linear data. The workflow looks rather complex with multiple scripts (ImageSolver, MosaicByCoordinates, TrimMosaicTile and PhotometricMosaic) but was actually relatively easy. The end result was a mosaic where differences between panels were nicely balanced.
