The Dark Doodad Nebula
The Dark Doodad Nebula
This long dark nebulae measures nearly 3 degrees in length (perfect for AUS-2). The nebula doesn't actually have an official name, however, I think the "popular" name is quite fitting. To the rear of the trailing end is NGC 4372, a small globular cluster; thanks to Ian Howarth for reminding me!
Despite the 4 x 600s LRGB, I feel it could do with another round of exposures to bring out the feinter dark brown nebulosity that trails behind the body of the nebula.

Don't forget that NGC 4372 is in there as a bonus object!
Ah yes of course! I'll add it to the description
