Eta Carinae, Keyhole Nebula, and Carina Nebula
Eta Carinae, Keyhole Nebula, and Carina Nebula
There's so many objects in this field, there's almost too many to count. First, there's Eta Carinae, a highly luminous hyper giant star with a mass of 100-150 times that of our Sun and a luminosity about 4,000,000 times the Sun's. Next, to the right of Eta Carinae, is the Keyhole Nebula which is a small dark cloud of cold molecules and dust with a diameter of about 7 light-years. Just to the right of the Keyhole Nebula is the d
Defiant Finger, a small boy globule. Above and to the right of the Keyhole Nebula at about the 2:00 position is the open cluster Trumpler 14, with a diameter of about 14 light-years. Above and slightly to the left of Trumpler 14 is a gas pillar known as Mystic Mountain which is about 3 light-years in height.
These are just a few objects in this image which is a blend of RGB and SHO subs @ 300s with a total exposure time of about 5 hours.
Hope ya like it!
