IC 2944 - Running Chicken Nebula
Hubble palette image of the center of the Chicken Run Nebula (IC 2944), acquired with the Planewave CDK24 telescope (CHI-1).
IC 2944 is an open cluster with an associated emission nebula found in the constellation Centaurus, near the star λ Centauri. It features Bok globules, which are frequently a site of active star formation.
Total exposure 180 minutes. 12 subs of 300s with each narrowband filter (SHO).
Combination of 6 one click observations.
The other images (version 2 and 3) were realized using Pro Datasets from I. Howarth (with AUS-2) and P. Jenkins (with ASA500N)
