IC 4685
IC 4685 is a reflection and emission nebula found in the constellation of Sagittarius very close to the Lagoon Nebula (M8). It is an active star-forming region, crossed by the dark ‘river’ nebula, Barnard 303 (like a Chinese dragon). It is approx. 4000 light year from Earth.
Also in the image is NGC 6559 the bright curved area to the left with a lighter inner area, it is another reflection and emission nebula, surrounded by dark dust lanes and ionised regions of Hydrogen
