Large Magellanic Cloud
The galaxy is a member of the Local Galaxie Group like the Milky Way. The distance from us is about 160000 ly. First mentioned by persian astronomer al-Sufi in the tenth century and later discovered by the explorers Amerigo Vespucci and Fernando Magellan.
