Large Magellanic Cloud Mosaic
Large Magellanic Cloud Mosaic
This is an 8 panel narrowband mosaic in an SHO color palette. I had to make several attempts at getting the panels put together well enough to be processed.
This is definitely one of the trickiest images I've attempted. I may try processing this image again at some point, but I'm reasonably happy with this result. I struggled to get a less magenta look in the large cloud - but I'm happy with the overall aesthetic at this point.
I may try using some more advanced techniques such as NSGXnml to normalize the relative scales and gradients. I did make use of dnaLinearFit which helped match the panels for the GradientMergeMosaic process in PixInsight.

Beautiful photo Dave, really very beautiful, congratulations for the effort you put into making this photo
Hi Dave,
Excellent. As to the comment on your previous and first image, it looks like the rust has now been brushed off. Nicely done. Ray
