M 6 The Butterfly Cluster CHI-1 LRGB
The Butterfly Cluster (M 6), also known as NGC 6405 lies about 2,000 light-years from Earth and spans about 20 light-years. It is an open cluster of stars in the constellation Scorpius and contains mostly young blue stars with an estimated age of 100 million years.
This image consists of 44 subs in LRGB @600s taken by the CHI-1 scope from August-October of 2021.
