Without neighboring IC4706 it is dificult to appreciate the bases of the Swan and Omega monikers for M17. Personally, I think the Duck Nebula would be more fittiing. To see the Omega, turn the image 135 deg counterclockwise. An HST palette image.

What a fantastic kaleidoscope of colours John. Excellent. At the moment I can't see the Duck you're referring to. You may or may not be pleased to read that I've noticed 2 other shapes that stand out to me. One clearly being a long-necked Tortoise. Thanks for sharing this superb rendition.
