M45: Pleiades abandoned
The one-click archive contains what looks like it might be a nice set of CCD images for the Pleiades. However, the entire set seems to be affected by local (i.e., non-astrophysical) scattering, and i struggled to separate this from the (astrophysical) scattered blue light of the Pleiades nebula. Maybe this is part of the reason why there aren't too many attempts at processing this dataset in the Gallery; certainly the more-recent CMOS images appear cleaner. Anyway, at some point you have to give up -- image processing is never finished, only abandoned...

I find that there are a lot of strange gradients in the Spain broadband data sets, they used to drive me mad with DBE, but Graxpert has worked a treat, see the Baby Eagle mosaic that I posted a while ago that includes this same Pleiades data. If memory serves I used LP in APP as well, but GraXpert did the heavy lifting on the masters. I had to do a lot of work also removing the corners as the Spa 1 CCD setup always had some strange things going on.
