M83
M83 a.k.a Southern Pinwheel Galaxy, or NGC 5236. Barred spiral galaxy ~15 mil ly away on the borders of Hydra and Centaurus. One of the closest and brightest barred spiral galaxies in the sky. The "Southern Pinwheel" nickname derives from its resemblance to the M101 a.ka. Pinwheel Galaxy.
