NGC 2174/2175 The Monkey Head Nebula SHO
The Monkey Head Nebula, also known as NGC 2174/2175, is located in the constellation Orion. The designation NGC 2174 refers to the nebula and NGC 2175 refers to the open cluster within the nebula. It's an HII emission nebula located at a distance of 6,400 light-years from Earth. The nebula, itself, covers an area larger than the full Moon.
I produced this image from 5 separate One-Click Observations on Telescope Live taken by their PlaneWave CDK24/FLI ProLine PL9000. The exposure lengths were 300s each SHO, so there's 10 each at 300s, for a total exposure time of 150 minutes. This was processed in Pixinsight and tweaked in Photoshop using the Hubble Palette.
Anyway, hope ya like it!
