NGC 2903
This is a barred spiral galaxy in the constellation Leo, NGC 2903. Discovered by William Herschel in 1784, it is not particularly far from the Milky Way, being about 30 million light-years. Its diameter amounts to about 100 thousand light-years, and within it a powerful process of formation of new stars is underway.
