NGC 2997
Face-on unbarred spiral galaxy ~40 mi ly away in Antlia, morphologically classified as SAB(rs)c. The arms have star-forming regions generated via density waves (Lin–Shu density waves) converging to super star clusters in the core revealed by Hubble near-infrared data.
