NGC 3521
NGC 3521
NGC 3521 is a spiral galaxy of type SABbc, located 30-35 million light-years away from Earth, and because of its halo, it is suspected, that they are the remnants of one or more small galaxies that have been absorbed by it. It was discovered by British astronomer William Herschel on February 22, 1784.
The galaxy has within it what appears to be a cluster of stars of spectral type A, suggesting that it has undergone a major starburst in the last few billion years.
