NGC 3521
NGC 3521 is a flocculent intermediate spiral galaxy approx. 30 million light-years away in the constellation of Leo. It is nicknamed the Bubble Nebula a result of extensive debris shells from the accretion of one or more long gone satellite galaxies. The merger also led to the formation of many star clusters, which are pink tinged.
The galaxy was discovered by William Herschel in 1784.
