NGC 3603
NGC 3603
SII: 4 x 600s
Ha: 4 x 600s
OIII: 4 x 600s
One from the archives!
This interesting target, shot with the 1-metre CHI-3 telescope, is adjacent to the more famous NGC 3576 'Statue of Liberty' nebula in Carina.
The unusual features adjacent to the central star cluster are real and not an instrumental artefact as I first thought! I examined some older data I'd taken of this object with a different telescope and camera and found the same objects. Intriguingly, they are only recorded in the h-alpha exposures.
