Excellent Work!
Thanks for the reply to my comment on your previous posting of the Heart nebula. There is much to learn requiring so much of one's time. Processing lots of data, as it appears you are doing, will soon be paying dividends.
The really green images, mainly from narrowband data, are as you may have already become aware of as a result of the strength of the Ha data compared to OIII and SII. A way of dealing with this in software like PixInsight is to use Pixel math to balance the strengths of the filters, often requirng experimentation. This has been simplified and even automated over time in PixInsight from people contributing additional software.
Anyway, I'd recommend browsing the Internet looking for those people who are posting videos on YouTube about Siril. Maybe put a post on the forum here asking if anyone has any recommendations on Siril YouTube channel contributors.
If you've decided that you'd like to pursue this hobby a lot further and have the time, maybe have a look at the explosion of free software produced by Franklin Marek (Seti Astro). If you're interested then I can point you in that direction.
If you prefer to carry on doing this more casually to fit it in with 'real life' then that's understandable. Don't become an addict.
Been waffling long enough, you could have likely processed an image in less time that's it's taken to read this.
Hey thanks! I do tend to stay pretty busy but I am always open to exploring further into hobbies when I can. I don't know about dividends though lol seems like a stretch for free software processing but would definitely make one feel really proud of their work I am sure. If you happen to have any recommendations on a software for processing planetary images, I would definitely be interested in learning more! I tried with Siril and failed miserably in the attempt haha but also still learning. I'm not too concerned with being an addict as I get to do this a couple nights a week :P
Notional dividends, lol.
Pleased to learn you've no intention of becoming addicted, something I've started to be able to control. Instead I now spend more time browsing images, not only here in the gallery but on Astrobin and other sites I have bookmarked. I find quite a few of those images inspiring.
Regarding planetary images you should find some tutorials here in the Telescope live Tutorials section. Other than that, I would use a browser and look for "processing planetary images". That ought to throw up, not literally, many helpful articles and videos.
I'd again recommend that while you are becoming more familiar with Siril, you have a look at the software from Franklin Marek. This will involve quite a bit of reading up on it so fit this in when you can. Right now he has replicated quite a lot of what software like PixInsight contains but in a much friendlier and easy way to use. Just one of many processes it contains is 'Statistical Stretch' which often will give a better balanced result when stretching. The Palette Picker shows you the results of combining the narrowband filters in various combinations, sho, hso, ohs etc to save having to try them out first. Noise reduction and sharpening along with many other useful things are in there and Franklin seems to release new things almost weekly.
To find more details try typing into a browser "seti astro" and slowly take it from there.
The number of likes this image has received is still increasing, congratulations.
