NGC1512

NGC1512 is a barred spiral galaxy about 38 million light years from Earth in the constellation Horologium. This galaxy is characterized by an explicit double ring structure with a small ring around the galactic nucleus and an intermidiate ring in the main disc, surrounded by a faint spiral outskirt. I was attracted by these interesting morphological features, so I tried to process the image. It was quite challenging to render the bluish spiral arms extending from the main disc nicely.
