NGC300

Here is an image of NGC300, also known as the Sculptor Pinwheel Galaxy, which was created by combining LRGB and Ha. I got the LRGB data from the Telescope Live data archive, but since I couldn't find Ha data for the galaxy in the archive, I newly acquired Ha images using the same telescope and camera combination as for the LRGB.

Hi Yasuyuki,
I think adding Ha to some galaxies can really transform them and this one is no exception. Throw in some skilful processing as shown here and you have an image most of us would be very pleased with. I'm sure you were pleased yourself especially after paying for an Advanced Request for the Ha.
Cheers and CS, Ray

Hi Ray, thanks for your positive comment. I agree with you. As you mentioned, some galaxies, especially those with abundant HII regions like this one, can become really colorful and brilliant by adding Ha. In processing this galaxy, I extracted the Ha image by the continuum subtraction, and added it to the broadband image in the linear phase. Yes, I spent a little money on an advanced request, so I'm really happy it worked out.
