NGC3324 & Gabriela Mistral Nebula

The NGC3324 is an open star cluster located in the constellation of Carina and part of the Eta Carinae nebula complex. Distance from Earth is around 9500 light years. The rich gas and dust deposits blown out by the stars in the cluster form the emission nebula IC 2599 which is also called Gabriela Mistral nebula, for the resemblance to the profiled figure of the Chilean poet.
The nebula has an estimated age of 12 million years and is around 30 light years in diameter.
