NGC6357 - Lobster Nebula
NGC6357 - Lobster Nebula
The War and Peace Nebula - whose name fits with contemporary times, particularly attracted my attention due to its complexity and fine details, I also really like the colors. For now, with a dataset from Telescope Live.
The Lobster Nebula - also known as NGC 6357 - is an active star-forming region full of cosmic gas and dust and newborn stars.
It is 400 light-years across and lies 8,000 light-years away in the constellation Scorpius. While many astronomers see a lobster shape formed by NGC 6357's cosmic clouds—hence the nickname—others see a skull and a dove, leading to the nebula's other nickname: the War and Peace Nebula (SkyAtNightMagazine).
