Nicknamed the North American Nebula because its shape resembles the continent, Caldwell 20 was discovered by William Herschel in 1786.
I have a particular fondness for this orientation because it highlights the celestial waterfall (visible at the bottom left), while also capturing two otherworldly beings (towards the lower right).
