Nice! I have also been playing with Ha+RGB. Not sure what is the best way. So far I have liked best when mapping R=max(R,Ha) but I guess it depends on the image what is the best combination.

This is a spectacular and challenging object, David. Every-time I process it, I feel like I'm starting again, trying to find that perfect balance between the dark dust lanes, and the bright trapezium, and the details of the large and small structures. I also had a go at HaRGB for M42, but I used the Ha to enhance the Red channel rather than use it as a luminance. I think both have their merits. I recently used Ha as a luminance for a wide-field of the Rosette and was really pleased with the results. I am loving the quality of this data, and the variety of options for mixing HSO and RGB data. Cameron :-)
