RCW62 is a nebula in the southern constellation Crux, also known as the Southern Cross. It is part of the so-called complex The Running Chicken Nebula.
It is a large and bright nebula extending about 70 light-years and located about 6,500 light-years from Earth. It contains several young stars and clusters, as well as dark globules of dust and gas that are potential sites of star formation, but have not yet been confirmed to exist.
