RCW 113 or Gum 55 Puts on a SHO!
Looking at RCW 113, otherwise known as Gm 55.
This is an emission nebula, radiating heavily in the hydrogen alpha wavelength (seen here in green). This light is driven by NGC 6231 - an ionizing cluster of stars near its core.
Estimates for the distance to this body range from 1250 to 1640 light years from Earth.
Recorded in SHO over 60 minutes by the 10cm AUS-2 telescope in Australia.
Processed in APP and BeFunky, with ReTouch to take out a photobombing satellite. :)
