RCW 16
RCW 16 (also known as Sh2-311, Gum9) is an emission nebula in the constellation of Puppis approx. 16,000 light years away. The nebula is a very active star forming region, where new stars are produced throughout the large clouds of dust and gas. The nebula consists of hydrogen and oxygen emissions. The area contains a number of young open clusters and nebula entities
