RCW 55
RCW 55 is a HII region located about15,000 light-years from Earth in the constellation Carina.
This HII or star-forming region is associated with one O8 V and six B-class stars according to Pinheiro et.al.. It lies in the midst of the Carina arc, about half way between the Car OB2 association and the massive star formation region RCW 49.
This HSO-image was acquired with CHI-1, data from 6 one click observations.
