Region around WR102
WR 102 is a Wolf–Rayet star. It is a luminous and very hot star, highly evolved and close to exploding as a supernova (sometime in the next 1500 years). It’s currently shedding matter with ferocious stellar winds - compressing and ionising the surrounding matter. You can see this in the small blue area in the centre of my image above; the typical arcs and bubble type of a Wolf-Rayet Nebula.
