Siamese Twins Galaxies
NGC 4567 and NGC 4568, nicknamed the Siamese Twins or Butterfly Galaxies, are a set of unbarred spiral galaxies about 60 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo. They are part of the Virgo Cluster of galaxies.
On top of this image one can see the elliptical galaxy NGC 4564.
This image was acquired with CHI-1 (Planewave CDK24) with an advanced request.
