SUPERNOVA REMAIN IN VELA AND SCATTERED CLUSTERS NGC 2645 AND NGC 2659
The Vela supernova remnant is a supernova remnant in the southern constellation of Sails. The remnant was caused by a type II supernova explosion that occurred about 11000-12300 years ago, about 800 light-years from the Sun.
