Tarantula Nebula
NGC 2070 a.k.a. Tarantula Nebula
…………………………………………......
Discovered in the mid-18th century, NGC 2070 is an H II region that can be found at the southeastern tip of the Large Magellanic Cloud, about 160,000 light-years from Earth. With an apparent diameter of almost 1000 light-years, this nebula is considered to be one of the largest star formation regions. Basically, the entire nebula is illuminated by the energy emitted by young stars in the central part of the nebula.
The attached image is the result of post-processing (calibration, alignment, stacking and editing) of 16 fits frames downloaded from the Telescope Live Chile network.
Total integration: 2h40 '
