Vela Supernova Remnant and Pencil Nebula
Vela Supernova Remnant and Pencil Nebula in a three panel mosaic using HOO palette. Vela and Pencil panels are from multiple One-Click Observations and the middle panel to fill in missing parts is from Advanced Request.
When looking into the often photographed Pencil Nebula on the left of the image it is easy to see the huge scale of the Vela SNR. Image also includes a small part of an even bigger SNR, Gum Nebula. According to my sources Gum Nebula is the largest single entity that is fully visible from the Earth because Milky Way is not fully visible from anywhere.
I have also included an annotated version.
