Widefield HOO and HaRGB images of Vela SNR, acquired with the CHI5 telescope (Nikon 200 F/2 lens and FLI ML16200 camera), located in Rio Hurtado, Chile.

The Vela supernova remnant is a supernova remnant in the southern constellation Vela. Its source Type II supernova exploded approximately 11,000–12,300 years ago (and was about 800 light-years away).

HOO-image:
Total exposure 6 hours. 36 subs of 300s with each narrowband filter (Ha and OIII).

HaRGB-image:
Total exposure 270 minutes. 36 subs of 300s with Ha and 6 subs of 300s with RGB.
