Widefield Rosette Nebula
Widefield Rosette Nebula
Wide field image of the Rosette Nebula in Monoceros
The Rosette Nebula, also known as Caldwell 49, is an H II region located near one end of a giant molecular cloud in the Monoceros region of the Milky Way Galaxy.
The open cluster NGC 2244 (Caldwell 50) is closely associated with the nebulosity.
This SHO-image (auto-dynamic SHO colour palette in PixInsight) is acquired with SPA-1 and SPA-3 (Takahashi FSQ-106ED) . Data from 18 one-click observations.
Total integration time 720 minutes
SHO: 24 sub-frames of 600s with each narrowband filter.
